Great news for the Odia cinema world. The much-awaited animated feature film 'Mahaprabhu Jagannath' will be released in various cinema halls across the country on August 28. Earlier, the film was scheduled to be released on July 17, but its release was postponed due to legal disputes. Now, after completing all the legal procedures, the path has been cleared for the film's release.

Odisha's first animated feature film 'Mahaprabhu Jagannath' is based on a fictional story. The main objective of the film is to instill devotion, interest in Odia culture and values ​​in the minds of the youth and children. The film will be screened nationwide through Cinepolis.

It is worth mentioning that on July 17, before the nationwide release, the Orissa High Court had issued an interim order on the basis of a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking judicial review of the content of the film. Following this, the production house approached the Supreme Court.

The production house had stated that the film had already received a 'U' certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) and was booked for screening in more than 300 cinema halls, so the delay in the release was causing huge financial losses. The Supreme Court later allowed the film to be released nationwide.

After the Supreme Court's decision, Durga Prasad Dalai, the film's sponsor and founder of Ele Animations, expressed gratitude and said that this film has been made based on deep devotion, love and respect for Lord Jagannath and Odia culture. He said that the main goal of this effort is to convey the message of devotion and grace of Lord Jagannath to children and families through animation.

The film is directed by Shripad Warkhedkar. Pallavi Sharma has written the story and screenplay, while Arjit Srivastava has composed the original song. Aviral Kumar has composed the background score and Atul Kumar Varma has composed the lyrics.

It is worth noting that this film continues the success of the previously aired popular animated series 'Jai Jagannath'. The series was appreciated by millions of viewers during its telecast on television. Now, the release of ‘Mahaprabhu Jagannath’ on the big screen on August 28 has created a lot of excitement among the viewers in Odia and across the country.
