Training on Non-Chemical Approaches of Pest Management in Vegetables

A farmer’s training was organised at Kujimahal, Bhubaneswar on recently by the students of Agriculture Science faculty of SOA on Non-chemical approaches of pest management in vegetables. This training was a part of student’s internship programme called RAWE (Rural Agriculture Work Experience) and carried out under the guidance of Dr. Manas Kumar Patel.

The students explained about the insect traps namely yellow sticky trap, blue sticky trap, light trap, pheromone trap, bucket trap and tricho card to the farmers in local language.

During the interaction, farmers asked various queries about the trap effectiveness and the properties of its eco friendly ability. At the end, vote of thanks was proposed.

All together 17 students and 60 farmers participated in the training programme.
