Yashasvi Jaiswal scored the first ODI century of his career in the third ODI against South Africa. He reached the milestone in 111 balls. His first 50 runs came off 75 balls, while the next 50 were scored in just 35 balls, giving great momentum to his innings.
With this century, Yashasvi has become the sixth Indian batter to score centuries in all three formats—Test, T20, and ODI. Before him, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Suresh Raina, and Shubman Gill had achieved this feat.
Impressive Performance in Visakhapatnam
In the third ODI played in Visakhapatnam, Yashasvi opened the innings with Rohit Sharma and stitched a crucial 155-run partnership, giving India a strong start. After scoring only 40 runs in the first two matches of the series, Yashasvi proved his worth in the final match. He made full use of the opportunity that came his way due to the absence of injured Shubman Gill.
Failure in First Two Matches—Brilliant Comeback in Third
In the first two ODIs, Yashasvi had scored 18 and 22 runs respectively. But in the third ODI, he played an excellent innings of 116 runs off 121 balls. His knock included 12 fours and 2 sixes.
