Central Team Arrives in Jajpur to Review Cholera Situation
A 14-member central team has arrived in Jajpur district to review the ongoing cholera situation. The team is holding discussions with Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling and the district administration at the Collector’s office. Meetings are also being held with the Collector and other senior officials.
Reports confirm that two more people have died today due to diarrhea in the district. Both deaths occurred at the District Headquarters Hospital. With these, the total death toll in Jajpur due to diarrhea has reached 14, and over 500 people have reportedly been affected. The district administration is taking active steps to bring the situation under control.
The central team, which arrived today to assess the outbreak, includes representatives from ICMR, NCDC, WHO, and the Food Safety Authority. The outbreak initially started in Jajpur but has now reportedly spread to Keonjhar, Bhadrak, Khurda, Cuttack, Bargarh, and Boudh.
