A low-pressure area remains active, hence there is a possibility of heavy rainfall in this region today and tomorrow

The cyclonic circulation over the Bay of Bengal has now turned into a low-pressure area. This system is currently active over the southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Gangetic West Bengal.

While the low-pressure system remains active, the monsoon is also advancing. As a result, rainfall is expected to continue in the state for the next few days.

According to the weather department's forecast, rain will persist today and tomorrow, with the possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall in some areas.

Rain is expected in half of Odisha today. Districts like Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Balasore, Bhadrak, and Jajpur may experience heavy rainfall. Similarly, rainfall is also likely in Jharsuguda, Dhenkanal, Angul, Bargarh, Deogarh, Sonepur, and Boudh.

Not just today, but tomorrow as well, most districts of the state are expected to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall. However, from the 20th onward, the intensity of rainfall is likely to reduce, with light rain expected in some isolated areas.
