Australia Captain Pat Cummins Ruled Out of India Tour, Focus on Ashes

Australia has suffered a major setback ahead of the crucial series against India. The team’s star fast bowler and captain of the Test as well as ODI side, Pat Cummins, has been ruled out of the ODI and T20 series against India. Cricket Australia announced this on Tuesday.

According to Cricket Australia, Cummins is struggling with pain in the lower back and has been advised to undergo rehabilitation. This decision has been taken keeping in mind the upcoming Ashes Test series against England. Since the iconic Ashes series between Australia and England will be held later this year, Cummins’ workload and fitness are being given top priority.

The board has clarified that Pat Cummins will not be selected for the upcoming series against India and New Zealand. During this period, he will focus solely on rehabilitation. The board’s main goal is to ensure that Cummins, as Australia’s captain and leading bowler, is fully fit for the Ashes series starting November 21.

Meanwhile, in October, the Indian team will tour Australia. During this period, the two sides will play a three-match ODI series and a five-match T20 series. Fans are highly excited about this, as after a long time, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will be seen in full action mode on the field.
