Conduction of One-day Training Programme for SSG women on Value Addition of essential oils at Taradipal, Pattamundai, Kendrapada, Odisha

A one-day training programme on value addition and cultivation of essential oils was successfully organized 30/11/2025 at Taradipal village under Pattamundai block. The training is organised specially for women SSG and 39 female attendees were present.

The programme focused on hands-on training for preparing value-added products such as white phenyl (toiletries cleaning), room refreshing spray, mosquito repellent spray, herbal disc wash liquid, and roll-on for forehead pain management. Participants were given practical demonstrations on formulation techniques, ingredient selection, processing steps, and packaging methods.

The training was conducted in the esteemed presence of Dr. Priyabrat Mahapatra, KEC, Bhubaneswar, and Mr. Ashok Satapathy, who guided the participants and emphasized the potential of essential oil based products in generating sustainable income. They highlighted the increasing demand for herbal products and encouraged villagers to adopt these small-scale enterprises as livelihood opportunities.

In the training programme was co-ordinated by Mr. Bikram keshari Behera, President of Bijay kalinga Bikash FPO, Mr. Manoj Kumar Panda, Project coordinator of Bijay Kalinga Bikash Organisation, Mr. Bibhuti Dash, Block coordinator of Bijay kalinga Bikash FPO, Mrs. Malika Rani Sharma, President of Bijay Kalinga Bikash producer group and Mr. Nrushinga samal, CEO of Agriculture producer organizations.

Participants expressed great enthusiasm, noting that the practical sessions would help them start household-level production units. The initiative is expected to strengthen rural entrepreneurship and promote self-reliance among the residents of Taradipal.

The programme concluded with appreciation for the resource persons and organizers for bringing such skill-development opportunities to the village.
