Odisha's young singer Jyotirmayee Nayak has emerged as the winner of the nationally acclaimed television singing reality show "Indian Idol Season 16." After nearly ten months of intense competition, she secured one of the country's most prestigious music titles through her exceptional singing talent, melodious voice, and consistently outstanding performances.

In the grand finale, Jyotirmayee captivated both the judges and the audience with her emotional and powerful performance. She was declared the winner, while Tanishk Shukla from Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, finished as the first runner-up.

As the winner, Jyotirmayee received the Indian Idol Season 16 trophy along with a cash prize of ₹20 lakh. Following her victory, she dedicated her achievement to cancer patients who have benefited from Music Therapy. She said that music is not only a source of entertainment but also a powerful medium that strengthens the human mind and inspires hope in life.

Sharing her emotions after the win, Jyotirmayee said, "I arrived in Mumbai on September 14 last year. This journey of nearly a year has been one of the most memorable experiences of my life. I never focused on winning the prize money. My only goal was to give my best performance in every round and earn appreciation from the judges. I have not yet decided how I will use the ₹20 lakh prize money."

The season featured renowned singer Shreya Ghoshal, music composer Vishal Dadlani, and popular rapper Badshah as judges. Throughout the competition, they highly appreciated Jyotirmayee's vocal quality, musical expression, and stage presence.

The season, based on the theme "Yaadon Ki Playlist," received an overwhelming response from viewers. Owing to the contestants' remarkable performances and the show's popularity, its run was extended multiple times.
