PM Kisan Nidhi Disbursement and Farmer-Scientist Symposium was organized on 19.11.2025 at Indian Institute of Water Management, Bhubaneswar under ICAR. Shri Ashrit Patnaik, Hon'ble MLA, Pipili participated as the Chief Guest in this program and said that today the famous Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi has launched the 21st installment of PM Kisan Nidhi. Rs. 18000 crores have been directly transferred to the accounts of about 9 crore farmers. The progress of Indian farmers is the goal of all of us. You should try to increase your income with the help of agriculture, animal husbandry and fish farming using scientific knowledge and skills. Another guest, Dr. Arjamadutt Sadangi, Director of the Institute, said that IIWM has developed water-saving farming methods for farmers in various production systems (irrigated, non-irrigated, waterlogged areas etc.). You should take advantage of it. Odisha's agricultural income is very low compared to the agricultural income of other states. Increasing farmer income along with water conservation should be the goal of all of us. First of all, a farmer-scientist seminar was held to increase agricultural income. More than 150 progressive farmers from Mukundpur, Belera, Bangirisingha, Mug Gehiri in Cuttack district, Garedipanchan, Jamujhari, Haridamada in Khurda district and Hanspada, Bhatbandh and Viligram in Puri district participated and put their problems before the scientist. The chief guest distributed improved varieties of seeds of various crops to the farmers. Later, a live broadcast of the Prime Minister's address to the farmers was shown to the farmers on a big screen. All the scientists, technical officers and employees of the institute attended the program. The program was moderated by Dr. Veer Kishore Sethi and Dr. Hemant Kumar Dash, while Dr. Sumant Kumar Mishra proposed the vote of thanks.
