Puri: Today, from 9 PM to 2 AM, public darshan of Mahaprabhu at the Jagannath Temple will remain suspended due to the secret ritual of 'Banakalagi'. During this sacred and confidential ritual, the darshan of the Chaturdha Murti (four deities) is restricted. For this reason, the Jay-Vijay Gate will also remain closed.
After the ‘Dwi-Prahara Dhoopa’ ritual is completed, the Dattamahapatra servitors will perform the facial decoration of the deities using natural colors, which they have prepared in advance. Devotees will be allowed to have darshan again only after the ritual is completed, i.e., after 2 AM.
Today, Mahaprabhu is giving darshan to devotees from the Janmabedi (birthplace altar). Special arrangements have been made for devotees to have a structured and smooth darshan experience. Devotees will be offered 'Adapa Abadha'. The Suar and Mahasuar servitor groups have independently arranged for the 'Adapa Abadha' for devotees. Through proper barricading, devotees will enter Shri Gundicha Temple and exit through the Nakachana Gate as per the issued guidelines.
