After the Indian Parliament passed the Online Gaming Bill, Dream11 had to terminate its contract with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). With the Asia Cup 2025 approaching, the BCCI is under pressure to find a new sponsor. Meanwhile, an NDTV report stated that the board is considering bringing in a new sponsor for the 2025–2028 period. It is being said that this new sponsorship deal could be worth around ₹452 crore.
Dream11 had signed a deal worth around ₹358 crore with the BCCI in 2023. However, due to the impact of the new Online Gaming Bill, it had to end the deal a year earlier.
According to NDTV, sources revealed that BCCI is looking for a new sponsor between 2025 and 2028. During this period, Team India will play nearly 140 matches. If this deal goes through, it will be much more profitable compared to the Dream11 deal. This new sponsorship contract will not only apply to domestic and international matches but also to tournaments organized by the ACC (Asian Cricket Council) and ICC (International Cricket Council).
The BCCI has fixed ₹3.5 crore for each bilateral match and ₹1.5 crore for each match in ICC and ACC tournaments. This amount will be higher than the Dream11 deal but lower than the Byju’s deal.
Questions remain about how Team India’s jersey will look in the Asia Cup. The BCCI wants to finalize the new sponsor’s name before the Asia Cup, but given the limited time, there is uncertainty. Therefore, Team India’s jersey may not feature a new sponsor in the Asia Cup. However, the deal is likely to be finalized before the 2025 Women’s World Cup.
