Ramanand Sagar’s son Prem Sagar passes away

Renowned director and producer Prem Sagar has passed away. On Sunday morning around 10 AM, he breathed his last at the age of 84. Prem Sagar had been suffering from age-related ailments for a long time. His demise has cast a shadow of grief over the television and film industry. Actor Sunil Lahri, who played the role of Lakshman in the iconic TV series Ramayan, expressed deep sorrow at his passing. He wrote that Prem Sagar, like his father Ramanand Sagar, was a brilliant filmmaker and a skilled cinematographer. Among Prem Sagar’s most popular works were TV shows like Vikram Betaal and Alif Laila. He also worked in films such as Charas and Lalkar. In the field of religious projects, he worked on Kakbhushundi Ramayan (2024) and Kamdhenu Gaumata (2025). As a producer, he created films such as Hum Tere Aashiq Hain (1979), Basira (2009), and Jai Jai Shiv Shankar (2010). In addition, he showcased his expertise in cinematography in films like Aankhen (1968), Lalkar (1972), and Charas (1976). Throughout his career, Prem Sagar made several memorable contributions and left an indelible mark on the world of television and cinema.
