Chief Minister reviews new Odisha Bhavan construction plan in Chanakyapuri

Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi today held a review meeting at Lok Seva Bhawan regarding the upcoming new Odisha Bhavan to be constructed at Chanakyapuri, New Delhi. He stated that the new building should reflect Odisha’s rich stone carvings, Sambalpuri Ikat, along with the vibrant image of Odia culture and traditions. The Chief Minister directed officials to commence the construction work at the earliest. It was informed in the meeting that the G+6 building, spread over a total area of 4,761 square meters, will have 45 different suites along with a conference hall. The Chief Minister further said that since a majority of cancer patients from Odisha travel to Mumbai for treatment, more rooms should be arranged at the Odisha Bhavan there. He also advised that, keeping in view the large number of devotees visiting Ayodhya from Odisha, as well as the significant Odia population living in Hyderabad and Surat, Odisha Bhavans should also be constructed at these locations. Additionally, the meeting also discussed the repair and renovation of Utkal Bhavan in Kolkata.
