The T20 Asia Cup 2025 is just a few days away. All participating teams are gearing up with intense preparations, aiming to build a strong strategy for the T20 World Cup 2026.
Pakistan has announced its squad for the Asia Cup, appointing Salman Ali Agha as the captain. Ahead of the tournament, Pakistan will participate in a triangular series in the UAE featuring Pakistan, Afghanistan, and UAE. Each team will play two matches against each other, and the top two sides on the points table will qualify for the final.
Bangladesh has also declared its Asia Cup squad, with Litton Das leading the side. Before the Asia Cup, Bangladesh will face the Netherlands in a three-match T20 series scheduled from August 30 to September 3.
While Pakistan, Bangladesh, and UAE are busy with their preparations, the Indian team has not played any T20 series. The players are currently resting. Earlier, a series between India and Sri Lanka was planned, but it got cancelled due to certain reasons.
Experts believe that BCCI should have arranged a T20 series against Zimbabwe or Ireland during this period. However, the opportunity has now slipped away.
The T20 Asia Cup 2025 will kick off on September 9. With Pakistan and Bangladesh fully prepared, all eyes will be on how India performs without any recent practice series.
