Four-storey building collapses in Vasai-Virar, Maharashtra; 3 dead, several injured

A major accident occurred in Vasai-Virar, Maharashtra. Around 1 AM on Tuesday night, a four-storey building collapsed near Ganpati Mandir in Vijay Nagar, Virar East. In this tragic incident, 3 people lost their lives and several others were injured.

As soon as the information was received, police, fire brigade, NDRF, and ambulance teams rushed to the spot and began rescue operations. Reports suggest that the rear portion of the building completely collapsed.

At the time of the incident, a one-year-old girl’s birthday celebration was taking place on the fourth floor. As a precautionary measure, the administration evacuated the remaining portion of the building as well.

According to the District Disaster Management Officer (DDMO), the building is located on Narangi Road between Chamunda Nagar and Vijay Nagar. He stated, "This is a very unfortunate incident. The administration is providing all possible assistance."

The injured have been admitted to a nearby hospital and are undergoing treatment. The building, said to be about 10 years old, is currently being assessed for damage.
