ICC Rankings: Gill Retains Top Spot, Rohit-Kohli in Top 4

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released the latest ODI rankings. In the batting list, India’s star batter Shubman Gill continues to hold the top spot with 784 points. Indian skipper Rohit Sharma is second with 756 points, while Pakistan’s former captain Babar Azam is third with 739 points. India’s Virat Kohli stands fourth with 736 points, and New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell has moved up to fifth place. Notably, no Australian batter features in the top-10, although Travis Head is ranked 11th.

In the bowlers’ rankings, South Africa’s Keshav Maharaj and Sri Lanka’s Maheesh Theekshana share the No.1 spot with 641 points each. However, Maharaj is listed first in the top-10 chart. Among Indians, Kuldeep Yadav (650) is ranked third, while Ravindra Jadeja (616) occupies the ninth spot.

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, despite retiring from T20Is and Tests, will continue to play ODIs. They last featured in February 2025 during the ICC Champions Trophy in the UAE, where both played crucial roles in India’s title victory.

In the third ODI against South Africa, Australian batters Travis Head (142), Mitchell Marsh (100), and Cameron Green (118* not out) scored centuries. Their performances boosted their rankings—Head climbed to 11th, Marsh to 44th, and Green to 78th place. Meanwhile, Josh Inglis also gained 23 spots to move up to 64th.
