The Hon’ble Governor of Odisha, Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati, conferred the prestigious “Rajbhasha Utkal Award 2025” during a special ceremony held at Raj Bhavan, Bhubaneswar, recognizing outstanding contributions and achievements in the implementation and promotion of Hindi as the Official Language in government institutions and public sector organizations across the state.
The Rajbhasha Utkal Award has been instituted to honor exemplary work in the field of Hindi usage in official communication, translation, administration, and creative literary efforts that strengthen India’s linguistic unity and administrative efficiency. The award reflects the commitment of the Government of Odisha to the effective implementation of the Official Language Policy of the Union Government.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Kambhampati emphasized the role of Hindi as a bridge language that connects citizens from diverse linguistic backgrounds, fostering national integration and administrative coherence. He lauded the efforts of officials, translators, and language coordinators who have dedicated themselves to promoting Hindi while respecting the cultural and linguistic diversity of the nation.
Among this year’s awardees was Shri Akash Srivastava, Junior Hindi Translator, CSIR–Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology (IMMT), Bhubaneswar, who received the Rajbhasha Utkal Samman – 2025 for his outstanding work in promoting Hindi and ensuring its effective use in official communications within the institute.
The ceremony was attended by senior officials from Raj Bhavan, representatives from various central and state government offices, and members of academic and literary institutions. The event concluded with a vote of thanks, reaffirming Odisha’s commitment to strengthening the Rajbhasha movement and promoting multilingual harmony.
