Team India’s winning streak in the Asia Cup 2025 continues. In their final Super-4 clash, India defeated Sri Lanka in a nail-biting Super Over. Batting first, India posted a strong total of 202 runs for the loss of 5 wickets. In reply, Sri Lanka also managed 202 runs with 5 wickets down, forcing the game into a tie. The match then went into the first Super Over of the tournament, where Sri Lanka scored only 2 runs. India chased down the target on the very first ball to seal victory and remain unbeaten in the tournament.

For Sri Lanka, Pathum Nissanka played a destructive knock of 107 runs off 58 balls with 7 fours and 6 sixes, while Kusal Perera scored 58 runs off 32 deliveries. Their partnership put India under pressure, but after Perera’s dismissal at 134, Sri Lanka’s scoring rate slowed down. Despite being in a winning position, the team crumbled under pressure in the final over, requiring 12 runs. Nissanka fell on the very first ball of the 20th over, and Sri Lanka ended at 202 runs, tying the game.

For India, Abhishek Sharma smashed 61 runs off 31 balls with 8 fours and 2 sixes. Shubman Gill (4) and captain Suryakumar Yadav (12) failed to deliver, but Tilak Varma (49) and Sanju Samson (39) played crucial knocks, helping India reach 202.

In the Super Over, Sri Lanka managed just 2 runs, which India chased on the very first ball, clinching what turned out to be the most thrilling match of the ongoing Asia Cup 2025.
