The 2nd International Conference on Pollution Control for Clean Environment (ICPCCE 2025) was inaugurated at Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar, bringing together leading academicians, researchers, policymakers, and industry experts from India and abroad to deliberate on sustainable solutions for environmental protection.
The inaugural ceremony was presided over by Prof. Shreepad Karmalkar, Director, IIT Bhubaneswar, who emphasized that pollution control is no longer a choice but a necessity for sustainable development. He highlighted the critical role of higher educational and research institutions in developing innovative technologies and evidence-based policies to address environmental challenges arising from rapid industrialization and urban growth.
The conference was graced by eminent invited guests Prof. M. M. Ghangrekar, Director, National Institute of Technology Puducherry, and Prof. Arvind K. Nema, Deputy Director, Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. In their addresses, the dignitaries underscored the importance of interdisciplinary research, international cooperation, and industry–academia collaboration to combat air, water, soil, and solid waste pollution in a holistic manner.
The inaugural programme commenced with remarks by the Dean, Civil Engineering, followed by a welcome address by Prof. Rajesh Roshan Dash, Organizing Chair of ICPCCE 2025. A detailed conference briefing was presented by Dr. Manaswini Behera, outlining the objectives, thematic areas, and technical sessions of the conference. The occasion also witnessed the unveiling of the Book of Abstracts, featuring research contributions from national and international participants. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Sankarsan Mohapatro, acknowledging the support of speakers, delegates, sponsors, and organizing committee members.
ICPCCE 2025 aims to provide a global platform for discussing recent advances in pollution control technologies, environmental monitoring, climate change mitigation, sustainable waste management, and policy frameworks for a clean environment. The multi-day conference includes keynote lectures, technical paper presentations, poster sessions, and panel discussions, fostering meaningful exchange of knowledge and collaborative research.
