Negligence in Teaching – 5 Teachers Asked to Reply Within 2 Days

In Kendrapara district, five teachers have been served show-cause notices for entering classrooms without proper preparation. During a school inspection, the Block Education Officer (BEO) observed that the teachers were teaching without preparing lesson diaries, lesson plans, and lesson notes, which are mandatory. It was also found that they were not performing their daily duties in school properly. Acting on this, the BEO issued notices to Sheikh Khatib, Dasharathi Nayak, Abhaya Mallik, Sheikh Mohammad Ayasuddin, and teacher Rashmita Mohanty of Kendrapara Gobindajiu Upper Primary School. The BEO has directed them to submit a satisfactory reply within two days, failing which disciplinary action such as suspension, departmental inquiry, or salary deduction may be taken against them. The education department has recently made lesson diaries and lesson plans compulsory to improve teaching efficiency and ensure quality education, but several teachers have been neglecting this requirement. The notices are being seen as a strict warning to teachers across the district.
