A new low-pressure area is likely to form again over the Bay of Bengal. According to the Meteorological Department, it may develop by the end of this week. Under its influence, heavy rainfall is expected in South Odisha. At present, a cyclonic circulation is active over South Odisha and the north Andhra coast. Due to its impact, a Yellow Warning has been issued for 18 districts today. While rainfall continues in many places, wind speeds of 40 to 50 kmph are also likely in some areas. For tomorrow, an Orange Alert has been issued for Malkangiri, where heavy to very heavy rainfall accompanied by lightning and thunder is expected. The Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rains in several parts of the state till September 13.
