New Rules Enforced on Students’ Dress and Hairstyle in College

Due to ongoing incidents of student harassment and ragging in various educational institutions across the state, the learning environment has become increasingly disrupted. In response, an innovative initiative has been launched by the Panchayat Samiti College of Balishankara Block in the tribal-dominated Sundargarh district. The college principal, Kulamani Sahu, has issued a unique directive mandating that all newly admitted students must attend college in simple, prescribed attire. Any student found violating this dress code will not be allowed to enter the college premises.

According to sources, this rule aims to instill discipline and maintain a conducive educational environment on campus. The decision has now become a widely discussed topic across the district. Newly admitted students are not allowed to wear jeans or sport hairstyles of their choice. All students will be checked at the college gate, and anyone not complying with the rules will be denied entry. Furthermore, the parents of such students will be informed about the violation.
