Bangladeshi model-actress Shanta Paul has been arrested by the Kolkata Police on charges of staying in India illegally using fake Aadhaar and voter ID documents. According to the police investigation, Shanta had been living in Kolkata for the past few years. She was produced in court and has been remanded to police custody till August 8. Shanta Paul began her career in modeling by winning the ‘Fresh Look’ model hunt competition. In 2019, she participated in the ‘Miss Asia Global’ competition where contestants from 24 countries took part. She secured a spot in the top 5 and was awarded the title of ‘Miss Beautiful Eyes’. After gaining popularity in modeling, she participated in numerous fashion shows and ramp walks both in India and abroad. She later transitioned into acting, appearing in films and TV commercials. Shanta has also worked in Bengali and South Indian cinema, carving a niche for herself in the entertainment industry. However, with the fake document case now under investigation, she is facing serious legal trouble.
