Ravichandran Ashwin Retires from IPL

Indian cricket’s legendary spinner Ravichandran Ashwin announced his retirement from the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Wednesday, August 27. On his official X handle, he stated that his IPL journey has come to an end, but fans will continue to see him play in various other T20 leagues. He expressed gratitude to all the franchise teams, the BCCI, and the IPL for their support. Earlier, Ashwin had retired from international cricket in December last year. In the previous season, he represented the Chennai Super Kings, who bought him for ₹9.75 crore, but his performance was below expectations as he managed only 7 wickets in 9 matches. Over the course of his IPL career, Ashwin played 187 matches, claiming a total of 221 wickets, and featured for Chennai Super Kings, Kings XI Punjab, Delhi Capitals, and Rajasthan Royals.
