Emphasizing the importance of translational research, he called for greater stakeholder integration and industry engagement in research activities. He also advocated for developing market mapping strategies to ensure research outcomes meet societal and industrial needs.

Dr. Singh elaborated on his visionary initiative, “One Week One Lab,” designed to spotlight the unique contributions of individual CSIR laboratories across the country. The minister also held an interactive Q&A session with research scholars, scientists, and industry professionals, resulting in a vibrant and insightful exchange. He appreciated the collaboration between CSIR-IMMT and BRIC-ILS on seaweed research, aligning with his vision for interdisciplinary research in bio-resources. He further lauded CSIR-IMMT for its close cooperation with the Ministry of Earth Sciences in developing advanced metallurgical technologies for deep-sea mineral exploration.

Dr. Ramanuj Narayan, Director of CSIR-IMMT, welcomed the dignitaries and presented the institutional report, highlighting the institute’s major contributions to national missions and self-reliance in critical minerals and decarbonization technologies. Dr. Debashis Dash, Director of BRIC-ILS, also addressed the gathering, emphasizing the progress of BRIC-ILS and its collaboration with CSIR-IMMT on the bio-prospecting of seaweeds for futuristic and sustainable innovations.
