Sourav Ganguly's return to cricket administration announced, ready for upcoming elections

Sourav Ganguly is on the verge of returning to cricket administration after a long time. The former captain of the Indian cricket team, who resigned from the post of BCCI president three years ago, is now considering filing his nomination for the post of West Bengal Cricket Association (CAB) president. Some officials in the association said that Ganguly is keen to take up the responsibility once again.

52-year-old Sourav Ganguly entered the administration as CAB secretary under the leadership of the late Jagmohan Dalmiya in 2014. Then in 2019, he was unanimously elected as BCCI president. After the end of his term, Binny became the president, who has now had to step down as he has reached the age limit (70 years).

In this context, Ganguly may return to the post of CAB president. A senior official said that Ganguly is seriously considering returning to the administrative field. According to the BCCI constitution, he has a maximum term of five years in the post.

Another point of view is the current CAB president Snehasish Ganguly, who is Sourav's elder brother. He has been in the post for the past six years. As per the Lodha Committee recommendation, he cannot continue in the post for much longer, so he will have to step down.

In addition, the most interesting thing about this issue is that Ganguly can once again start a new chapter in his administrative life. In that case, whether he will be elected unanimously or there will be an election - it will be clear in the coming days.
