The state government has directed all departments to submit detailed reports on the number of incompetent or underperforming officers working under them, and how many among them have been compulsorily retired so far. Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja has asked for department-wise data to be submitted promptly.
Departments have also been instructed to maintain records of when and where officers have conducted field visits. Additionally, reports are being sought on how effectively government schemes have been implemented at the grassroots level. All data must be submitted by the 7th of this month.
Acting on the instructions of Chief Secretary Ahuja, OSD Kalyan Kumar Rath has sent an official letter to all departments, asking for factual status on 12 key points. Importantly, if concrete evidence is found against any officer regarding incompetence or inefficiency, the state has decided to initiate forced retirement proceedings.
According to a circular issued by the Department of General Administration on September 24, 2019, any officer found unfit for service may be retired compulsorily. This move aims to ensure greater accountability and efficiency in the government workforce.
