Trump Repeats Claim on India-Pakistan Ceasefire; India Refutes - “Purely Bilateral Decision”

Former US President Donald Trump has once again repeated his old claim, stating that his intervention was the reason many wars around the world were stopped, including the India-Pakistan ceasefire. According to Trump, at that time India and Pakistan were bombing each other, shooting down aircraft, and the situation had escalated to the brink of a nuclear war, but he stopped the crisis. He further claimed that six major wars were averted during his tenure, and even the Thailand-Cambodia conflict was a result of his diplomatic success. However, India has repeatedly rejected Trump’s claim. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar clarified in Parliament that no third party, including the US, had any role in the India-Pakistan ceasefire. He emphasized that it was the outcome of direct DGMO-level talks between the two countries and had nothing to do with any deal or external intervention.
