Cloudburst wreaks havoc in Kishtwar, J&K: 60 dead, 75 missing

A devastating cloudburst in Chishoti village of Kishtwar district, Jammu, has caused massive destruction. Rescue operations have continued for the third consecutive day. So far, 60 people have lost their lives and more than 100 have been injured. Union Minister Jitendra Singh, along with J&K DGP Nalin Prabhat, visited the affected site to review the ongoing rescue and relief operations being carried out by the Army, Police, NDRF, SDRF, BRO, and local volunteers. Authorities have identified 46 bodies, which have been handed over to their families. Around 75 people are still missing. Among the victims are two CISF personnel and one J&K Police Special Police Officer (SPO). The cloudburst washed away 16 residential houses, 3 temples, 4 watermills, a 30-meter-long bridge, and over a dozen vehicles.
