After Failing at the Box Office, Vijay Deverakonda’s “Kingdom” Set for OTT Release

Vijay Deverakonda’s spy-action thriller “Kingdom” created quite a buzz in 2025, but it failed to perform strongly at the box office. Fans were highly excited about the film, but despite being made on a budget of ₹130 crore, it managed to collect only ₹82.02 crore in 25 days. According to Sacnilk, the film earned ₹60.79 crore from India and ₹21.25 crore from overseas markets. Directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, “Kingdom” received mixed reviews from both audiences and critics, and it could not pull large crowds to the theatres. Now, the film is set for its OTT release. On 27th August 2025, it will stream on Netflix in five languages — Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. Interestingly, this date also holds special significance for Vijay Deverakonda’s career, as his blockbuster “Arjun Reddy” completes 8 years and his Bollywood debut “Liger” completes 3 years on the same day. It remains to be seen whether “Kingdom” manages to find more success on OTT.
