Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has directed premier technical institutions, including Indian Institute of Technology Madras and Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, to immediately assist the Central Board of Secondary Education in resolving technical issues affecting the board’s post-examination re-evaluation services portal. The move comes after several students and parents across the country reported difficulties in accessing the portal following the declaration of CBSE Class 10 and Class 12 results. Complaints included server crashes, login failures, payment-related problems, and delays in accessing re-evaluation and verification services.
According to an official statement issued by the Ministry of Education, the Union Minister has instructed a dedicated team of professors and technical experts from IIT Madras and IIT Kanpur to work closely with CBSE authorities to ensure a smooth, transparent, and glitch-free re-evaluation process for students. The expert teams will examine all technical glitches that have been reported since the launch of this year’s post-result services and recommend immediate corrective measures to strengthen the digital infrastructure of the board.
The IIT experts have been tasked with carrying out a detailed assessment of the portal’s server capacity, stability, and technical workflows. Special focus will be given to improving portal performance during peak traffic hours when lakhs of students simultaneously attempt to access the system. The team will also review the robustness of the overall IT infrastructure and ensure that important systems such as login authentication, user access management, payment gateways, and data handling mechanisms function accurately and securely without disruption.
Sources in the Education Ministry stated that the intervention is aimed at restoring confidence among students and parents who faced inconvenience during the crucial re-evaluation application process. Many students had expressed concern over repeated login errors and unsuccessful payment transactions while applying for marks verification, photocopies of answer sheets, and re-checking of evaluated papers. The Ministry has assured that no student’s interest will be adversely affected because of technical problems.
Shri Dharmendra Pradhan emphasized that the welfare and academic interests of students remain the government’s top priority. He directed CBSE officials to undertake all corrective actions on an urgent basis and ensure that the system becomes more student-friendly, transparent, and efficient. The Minister also stressed the need for long-term technological improvements so that such technical disruptions do not recur during future examination and result-related processes.
Officials indicated that the IIT teams are expected to submit recommendations for both immediate fixes and long-term digital reforms. These may include advanced server scaling systems, better cybersecurity mechanisms, improved cloud-based infrastructure, and more efficient traffic management technologies to handle large-scale user activity during result and re-evaluation periods.
The development is being viewed as a significant step by the Ministry of Education to strengthen the digital functioning of CBSE and provide relief to lakhs of students seeking post-result services across the country.
