An insightful Cyber Awareness Session was organised at Jaydev College, Naharkanta, Pahal, with a strong focus on promoting online safety, digital hygiene, and responsible internet usage among students and faculty members.
The session aimed to create awareness about the growing risks of cybercrimes such as phishing, online fraud, data theft, and social media exploitation. Experts from the Bhubaneswar Police Cyber Cell and CYRRA (Cyber Research and Response Association) interacted with students, sharing real-life case studies and practical tips for staying safe in the digital space.
Participants were educated about critical topics including safe password practices, privacy settings on social media, responsible sharing of information, and identifying online scams. Interactive demonstrations and Q&A sessions helped the students understand the importance of being vigilant and adopting secure digital habits.
The college authorities appreciated the initiative and expressed their commitment to continuing such awareness programmes regularly. The event concluded with a call for students to become “Cyber Safety Ambassadors”—to spread the message of safe and responsible internet use within their communities.
