Baba Bhairavanand Autonomous College, Chandikhol, celebrated a historic milestone on August 12, 2025 with the grand inauguration of its Golden Jubilee Year and Foundation Day, celebrating 50 years of excellence in education and social service since its establishment in 1976.
The celebrations began with the arrival of guests, followed by the formal inauguration in the morning, laying of foundation stone for new infrastructure projects, and a formal meeting with dignitaries.
The Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Odisha Shri Kanak Bardhan Singh Deo graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, along with Hon’ble Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) from Jajpur Dr. Ravindra Narayan Behera as the Guest of Honour; Hon’ble MLA from Badachana Shri Amar Kumar Nayak as the Inaugural Guest; The keynote speaker was Professor (Dr.) Harekrishna Satpathy, former Vice-Chancellor of National Sanskrit University; and the guest of honour was S.J.J. Judhishthir Nayak, President of the Governing Council and ADM, Jajpur.
The program was presided over by Dr. Prasanna Kumar Mahapatra, Chairman of the College. Over the decades, the institution has expanded from arts to science and commerce streams, achieved UGC accreditation (2f and 12B), achieved NAAC accreditation, introduced postgraduate programmes and developed modern infrastructure including state-of-the-art classrooms, laboratories, a digital library, seminar halls, sports facilities and research spaces.
Staying true to the motto of "Education for Change" and the values of discipline, knowledge and national service, the college has been actively involved in NSS, NCC, YRC, and other outreach activities such as literacy campaigns, health camps, environmental conservation, disaster relief and cultural preservation.
Several programmes including seminars, alumni conferences, cultural programmes, research conferences and community projects were organised during the golden jubilee year, which will strengthen the institution's legacy as a centre of learning, leadership and social change in Odisha.
