India wins third T20 beats Australia by 5 wickets

India defeated Australia by 5 wickets in the third T20 match held at the Bellerive Stadium in Hobart. This marks India’s first-ever victory against Australia at this venue — a historic milestone.

Batting first, Australia scored 186 runs for the loss of 6 wickets. Tim David smashed 74 runs off 38 balls with 8 fours and 5 sixes, while Marcus Stoinis scored a solid 64 off 39 balls. Matthew Short remained unbeaten on 26 runs off 15 balls. For India, Arshdeep Singh took 3 wickets and Varun Chakravarthy claimed 2.

Chasing a target of 187, India got off to a steady start. Abhishek Sharma scored 25 runs, Shubman Gill made 15, Suryakumar Yadav hit 24 off 11 balls, Tilak Varma added 29, and Axar Patel contributed 17 runs.

When India were struggling at 111 for 4, Washington Sundar played a match-winning unbeaten knock of 49 runs off 23 balls to steer the team to victory. Jitesh Sharma remained unbeaten on 22 runs. Their unbroken partnership of 43 runs guided India to a comfortable win with 9 balls to spare.

Out of the five-match T20 series, three games have been completed so far. Both India and Australia have won one match each, leveling the series 1-1. The fourth T20 will be played on Thursday, November 6, at Gold Coast.
