Roof collapses at Cuttack Railway Station

At around 3:45 PM, an incident occurred at Cuttack Railway Station where an old wall and a portion of the shed from Platform No. 1 collapsed and fell onto the tracks. As a result, train movement on Tracks 1 and 2 was disrupted. The East Coast Railway issued a statement, clarifying that the collapse was due to an old wall of the under-construction platform giving way. Fortunately, there were no casualties, although some material damage was reported. A team was immediately deployed, and officials stated that normal train movement would be restored within 45 minutes. The incident also affected the movement of some trains; however, due to ongoing redevelopment work, trains like 12515 Coimbatore–Silchar Weekly Express, 22643 Ernakulam–Patna Bi-Weekly Express, and 12509 Bengaluru–Guwahati Tri-Weekly Express had already been diverted to halt at Naraj Marthapur station instead of Cuttack. The fact that no lives were lost comes as a big relief, and the East Coast Railway is working to restore normal operations at the earliest.
