Student Scores 102 Out of 100 in Odisha +2 Results, Technical Error Suspected

Where the highest mark is 100, a student got 102. It may seem unbelievable to hear, but after the +2 exam results of the state were announced, such a miraculous incident came to light. The entire state is now in a state of discussion as the mark sheet of a student of the famous Ravensa Higher Secondary School in Cuttack showed marks from 100 to 102 in English.

According to the information shown in the mark sheet, the student had got 80 to 82 marks in the English theory exam and a full 20 marks in the internal assessment. As a result, the total mark was 102. Normally, it is not possible to get more than 80 marks in a theory paper of 80 marks. Therefore, after this information from the mark sheet came to light, it went viral on social media and many questions were raised about the education system.

After the incident, an immediate investigation was started by the Council of Higher Secondary Education Odisha (CHSE). Initial investigation revealed that the grace marks given to the student in Mathematics were mistakenly added to the marks of the English subject. This is said to have happened due to a software glitch or a practical error during data entry.

Chiranjivi Mohapatra, chairman of Ravensa Higher Secondary School, said that such impossible marks were shown due to a technical error during the upload of grace marks and mark tabulation. He said that the matter has been immediately brought to the notice of the CHSE authorities and the original marks of the student will be corrected accordingly.

Meanwhile, CHSE controller Prashant Kumar Parida clarified that this is an isolated incident and no such error has been detected in the mark sheets of lakhs of students. He said that the error will be corrected within the next seven days and the final certificate will have the correct number mentioned.

The incident has raised questions about the accuracy of the exam result declaration system and digital data management. Many parents and educationists say that such errors can affect the morale of students and reduce trust in the examination system. Similarly, there is a need to tighten the software checking and verification system by CHSE to avoid such mistakes in the future.
