The Swachhata Pakhwada, which commenced on December 16 at the ICAR–Indian Institute of Water Management, Bhubaneswar, concluded successfully today.
The valedictory function was graced by the presence of the Hon’ble Member of Parliament from Kandhamal, Shri Sukanta Kumar Panigrahi, as the Chief Guest. Addressing the gathering, he urged people to adopt cleanliness as a way of life at all levels of society. He emphasized that the vision of Viksit Bharat envisioned by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi cannot be realized without achieving the goal of Swachh Bharat.
The Director of the Institute, Dr. Arjama Datta Sadangi, attended the programme as the Guest of Honour. While welcoming the Chief Guest, he highlighted the importance of spreading the message of Swachh Bharat to every individual and encouraged collective participation in the cleanliness drive.
On this occasion, the Chief Guest distributed prizes to the successful students who participated in various school-level competitions organized during the Swachhata Pakhwada, thereby motivating them.
To make the event memorable, a tree plantation programme was also organized in the institute परिसर with the participation of the dignitaries.
The Principal Scientist of the Institute, Dr. Hemant Kumar Das, presented a brief report on the activities conducted during the Swachhata Pakhwada and proposed the vote of thanks.
