Tragic Road Accident During Kanwar Yatra in Jharkhand; 18 Devotees Killed

During the holy month of Shravan, millions of Kanwariyas undertake a pilgrimage to Baba Baidyanath Dham in Deoghar. On Tuesday morning around 4 AM, a tragic road accident occurred near Jamunia Chowk in Jharkhand. A bus carrying around 40-50 pilgrims collided head-on with a truck loaded with gas cylinders on its way to Deoghar. 15 devotees died on the spot, and 3 more succumbed to injuries during treatment, raising the death toll to 18. The number is feared to rise further. Over 20 injured have been admitted to hospitals in Deoghar and Dhanbad. Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has expressed grief over the incident and announced financial assistance for the families of the deceased.
